Kalyakool Moort Working Parties Purpose:
1. To explore the current context of mental health screening among Aboriginal families, the barriers and enablers to screening, the issues impacting on the wellbeing and mental health or Aboriginal Families.
2. To inform content and nature of exploration for individual community yarning session, the online survey, and following data analysis to inform the development of the Kalyakool Moort screening tool process and content.
3. To identify potentially relevant screening tools, and to further analyse the subsequently selected few for language appropriateness, cultural relevance, psychometric properties, usability, consideration of criteria for PTSD, anxiety, depression (DSM V), and what may be useful to include in the perinatal context and why.
4. To review results, emergent themes and outcomes for Kalyakool Moort yarning sessions, health professional interviews and online survey data, and screening tool analysis workshops.
5. To determine a 'where to from here' approach to perinatal mental health and wellbeing screening and assessment.
